Dolores Huerta receives Jefferson Award for public service

A year later he received the highest civilian honor in the country, lifelong trade unionist and activist for the rights of immigrants Dolores Huerta received the Jefferson Award, a national award for public service.

Huerta, 83, received the award on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.

Wine a year later received the Medal of freedom.

In addition to Huerta, the Jefferson Award winners include two United States Senators, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and the owner of a professional team of tennis.
