If you are an avid reader or writer - fiction, chances are you took note of a story that appeared in the Pacific standard (reprinted in classroom during the weekend) last week. Titled "study: read novels makes us better thinkers," article by Tom Jacobs, cited a recent document of the University of Toronto, indicating that subjects who read a story lower then scored in tests designed to determine the "need for cognitive closure" that the people who would read an essay.
