In the height of its investigative reporting, High Times magazine selected a strain of marijuana from Santa Cruz Mountain Naturals as one of the best of the year.
The strain called "Cracker Jack" won first place in the best sativa category over finalists called "Red Dragon" and "Tangle." The magazine doesn't say what properties the pot, uh, medicine, had that made it a winner.

A year later he received the highest civilian honor in the country, lifelong trade unionist and activist for the rights of immigrants Dolores Huerta received the Jefferson Award, a national award for public service.
Huerta, 83, received the award on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
Wine a year later received the Medal of freedom.
In addition to Huerta, the Jefferson Award winners include two United States Senators, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and the owner of a professional team of tennis.
