Sydney leathers, the woman in the center of former Congressman Anthony Weiner (DN.And) last 'sexting' scandal, is supporting Christine Quinn for mayor of New York City.
In a magazine interview with complex published Thursday, leathers said it would support rival mayoral Weiner if it were eligible to vote in the race.
"Obviously he has impulse control problems having Anthony," said leathers. "I love the fact that is out and proud." I have many gay friends and I think it would be a great ally for that community. She cares about the middle class people. She cares about the students. I feel that it is more in line and up to the standard established for the Mayor."
According to political, Quinn campaign had no comment on approval of leathers.
Leathers, public participation with Weiner made last month, lives in Princeton, Indiana. In an interview with the Daily News published Sunday, leathers, said Weiner spoke with her about his mayoral ambitions during their sessions of sex phone.
"He spoke of how he felt that all would be well from his first scandal," he said.
Until Weiner messages with leathers made public last month, the former Congressman had carried their democratic opponents in the polls. However, it has continued slipping in recent polls, with a survey of the University of Siena/New York Times posted Thursday find Weiner fourth. Quinn, however, surpassed this survey with the support of 25 percent of the Democrats in the city.
