Frankfurt, Germany - Daimler AG Mercedes-Benz offers a hybrid version of its luxury flagship S-Class which can driving emission - free sedan and even provide the type of pampering and to wealthy expensive brand clients expect.
Headquartered in Stuttgart Daimler AG took the wrappers in 2015 Mercedes - Benz S 500 plug-in hybrid this week at the auto show in Frankfurt, following the introduction in May of the petrol and diesel versions powered the S-class. UNDER THE HOOD: Turbo V6 3.0 liters and an electric motor of 107 horsepower and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery. The company says the car will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 - 100 km/h) in a brisk 5.5 seconds. Top speed is 155 mph (250 km/h).
INTERIOR: Same as the conventional model, the 500 S caters to the comfort of rich customers who may have hired drivers. Reclining rear seats 43.5 degrees if the passenger wants to relax and unwind. Assistance and safety systems to advanced driver using cameras and radars say the car can adjust the suspension to the hard pavement ahead and driving in slow stop-and-go traffic.
OUTSIDE: Car doesn't change much in terms of elegant lines of the older model. It has a high Grill.
Fuel economy: the company says making 78 miles per gallon or 3.0 litres per 100 kilometers under the European standard, which brings City and highway conditions.
PRICE: Not announced yet, but it is likely that buyers will pay a premium over conventional S-Class models.
Health: It helps to hybrids and low emissions driving more into the mainstream to new, exclusive buyers.
JEERS: Hybrids are only a small part of the market.
