With less than two weeks until "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premieres on ABC (Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET), it's time for a first look at the action-packed series' pilot, which brings back Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson to assemble a new team of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives to investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.

In ABC's newly released preview clip, Coulson attempts to recruit Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) for his unorthodox team, but she's somewhat less than enthusiastic at the prospect of leaving her comfortable desk job.
