The stress and strain of constantly being connected can sometimes take your life -- and your well-being -- off course. GPS For The Soul can help you find your way back to balance.

GPS Guides are our way of showing you what has relieved others' stress in the hopes that you will be able to identify solutions that work for you. We all have de-stressing "secret weapons" that we pull out in times of tension or anxiety, whether they be photos that relax us or make us smile, songs that bring us back to our heart, quotes or poems that create a feeling of harmony, or meditative exercises that help us find a sense of silence and calm. We encourage you to look at the GPS Guide below, visit our other GPS Guides here, and share with us your own personal tips for finding peace, balance and tranquility.

Cathryn Woodruff, summer intern for Healthy Living, is prone to occasionally experiencing that overwhelming sensation of stress that can fog the mind. When she feels this way, she reminds herself to step back and appreciate the little things in life that truly matter. Putting life into perspective, even if only for a fleeting moment, can be incredibly rewarding. Check out her personal GPS Guide to stress relief in the slideshow below.

When I'm feeling tense or sore after a long week, there is nothing quite like giving my body the chance to relax and stretch in my favorite yoga poses. It was a bonus when the instructor handed out gingerbread yoga cookies at the end of class!

A fall family hike in the Adirondack Mountains was a refreshing way to get some air, blow off some steam and connect as a family.

Pancakes are my favorite winter morning treat. When my sister Claire made me these one morning, I couldn't stop smiling. It reminded me that such a simple act of spreading happiness goes a long way.

On a trip to California this past spring, I found my center on a slightly gray, early morning at Laguna Beach. At 7 a.m., the beach was surprisingly empty and incredibly peaceful.

Lake George is where I grew up spending summers as a kid. A cup of coffee on the porch in the morning, with this beautiful view in front of me is enough to make me feel blessed.

I took this picture at the Summit while skiing in Mont Tremblant, Canada last winter. Whenever I rediscover this picture, I'm reminded that t I am just a small part of this giant and beautiful Earth.

A friend took this picture of my hand extended out of the sun roof of her car on a road trip to Maine. I love the feeling of fresh air rushing past my fingers, coupled with the perfect road trip soundtrack.
