Gabriel Gómez: NSA phone record seizure "Was an absolute excess"

As special election in Massachusetts to fill the seat in the Senate of United States Secretary of State John Kerry won more national attention, the Republican candidate Gabriel Gomez is to take a stance on a national issue.

Gomez weighed in the NSA's phone records from monitoring, criticizing the program as a "absolute excess" on Fox News, the Boston Globe reported.

Observations of the Republican candidate deviated from Republicans like Sen. Lindsey Graham (r-s.C.), who said that he was "happy" that the NSA is using phone records to combat terrorism. View more parallel to the rival Gomez, representative Ed Markey (D-Mass.), who said that he has "serious doubts", according to the Boston Herald.

With two weeks remaining before election day June 25, the Associated Press reported Thursday that Gomez Markey race has seen a flood of fundraising of democratic sources, in order to avoid a repeat of the victory of 2010 ex-Senator Scott Brown for the Republican party. President Barack Obama is one of the names of entering the fray, with plans to campaign for Markey in record next week, the AP reported on Tuesday.

According to a survey from the University of New England from 734 voters published Wednesday, Markey has an advantage of two digits on Gomez, 52 to 40 percent. From Thursday, compilation of HuffPost pollster of 12 surveys showed Markey holding a 48-39 percent edge.
