2013. The Draft, NBA busts and steals: Beware the Nerlens Noel

The NBA Draft is almost here and we still don't know for sure who will be the top overall pick.

Nerlens Noel of Kentucky is my prediction, but the fact that there is no option to clear n ° 1 is news itself. But while this particular project may lack of stardom, offer value, especially in the middle- to -late first round where a number of potential sleepers will be.

And, as always, we can not forget the busts as well. Let's take a look.

Bustos

Nerlens Noel, C, Kentucky

It is not so crude as Hasheem Thabeet of the Thunder and he is a more fluid athlete, but for a guy who is likely to be chosen first overall, Noel reminds me of the former second selection. This is not a good thing. There is concern by Noel recovering from an ACL injury and the fact that has lost 25 pounds from her slight frame. While Noel is a highly active and excellent shot blocker, the lack of pure basketball acumen and the fact that it is so crude offensively are big scares. During his limited time of Kentucky, does not show a constant touch outside painting and showed that it could be a real work-in-progress as a pick-and-roll player. The scarcity of big men in this draft has raised its value, but it is still difficult to justify the Noël decision in the first three.

Michael Carter-Williams, PG, Syracuse

Carter-Williams has all the measures on paper. It is 6-pies - 6 and a jumper of explosive that can flat dish the rock. But NBA point guards these days have to score and we have to be able to shoot three of a pick-and-roll, two areas where has demonstrated ability to zero. See Carter-Williams and it will pop out of the page with "flash games", but something definitely is missing and would stay away, even in the mid-teenage years. A scout told me that Jim Boeheim didn't love so much. For a guy with his kind of talent, MCW doesn't impact the game so you must.

Anthony Bennett, F, UNLV

Bennett is difficult to evaluate because he played a season at the University and has a high ceiling. It can actually finish above the rim and has shown some nice versatility. But you really fight in the NBA half-court offense and sincerely, I wonder what their real position is pro. He could play the three or four, but reminds me of Timerwolves Derrick Williams, who was actually better when he came out of Arizona (he scored more and was more efficient), but I don't think that he will be able to score with the same ease that he did it at the University.

It steals

Dennis Schroeder, PG, Germany

The Schroeder 6-foot-2 really helped himself at the Summit of rings of Nike, where he exhibited an elite first step and the actual capacity of screen-and-roll. Still only 19 and a bit wild, but its size of 6-foot-8 and tremendous lateral quickness make him special. It is also harassment, Defender on the ball and although he is crude, it could become the best point guard of the class because of his pure instincts on both sides of the plant.

2013 nba draftDennis Schroeder, 19, of Germany, has a wonderful mix of speed and explosive capacity of the point guard position. (Getty Images)

Giannis Antetokounmpo, F, Greece

Like Schroeder, Antetokounmpo has an incredible advantage and will also need time to develop physically. 6-Foot-9, he possesses excellent versatility due to its ability to handle the ball and score on the open floor, as well as facilitate the teammates. Still get pushed and struggles with a lack of strength, but Antetokounmpo is a talent of elite who could have been a surefire top 10 pick in a year had gone to University in the States. I give three NBA seasons and could become the theft of this project.

Jackie Carmichael, PF, State of Illinois

Guards Erick Green (Virginia Tech) and Ray McCallum Jr. (Detroit) are mischievous, but Carmichael is about as secure as you can get in the 30 or 40 years, and exactly why this project is so interesting. It has an extremely high motor and a true gift for rebounding. Although limited offensively, Carmichael offers high value because it has zero ego and they compete every night, for 5 minutes or 20. It is the type of pegamento-chico you need every good team, but very few actually have.

'Bred Devious' critical: series of life continues to draw reaction Cultural stereotypes of Latin (VIDEO)

"Deviant maids" may have made history with their Latin all issued Sunday, but critics refuse to give up insisting that the representation of Hispanic women show perpetuates stereotypes and "disappointing".

On Wednesday, critics and fans of the series of lifetime, joined host Marc Hill on HuffPost Live to discuss if "Diverted maids" cements stereotyping of Latinas in the United States or extend the cultural diversity of the primetime television.

With five Latino stars that includes the main cast - Edy Ganem, Dania Ramírez, Judy Reyes, Ana Ortiz and Roselyn Sánchez - the show has been praised by some in the Hispanic community of cultural advancement. However, the series, created by Marc Cherry ("Desperate Housewives") and Executive produced by actress Eva Longoria, received a series of reactions prior to its official release on June 23.

"I think the biggest problem is that unfortunately because this is the only way that Latinas are represented, this stereotype has become reality for many Americans", consultant of media Galina Espinoza said Hill during the segment, referring to the work of the characters as housemaids for Beverly Hill's richest residents. "And this was an opportunity for someone who is a leader in the community [Longoria] is really to show that Latinas have today and show us as not." And it is, I don't know if I would call it a missed opportunity, which is certainly disappointing. "

The demonstration, as editor of entertainment Lee Hernandez, say that works of the characters do their less important stories within the community.

"I think that when you say that Latinas are only servants or maids Latina playing or we cannot be something better, I think there is really a lot of snobbery, tied already say that some knew a lot of maids and know much of ladies," said Lee Hill. "What I'm saying is that do you not tell their stories?"

In response to those who support "Bred deviants" because it presents Latin talent for the first time in prime-time, author Alisa Valdes rejects with his own prior experience working with life. Valdes said the process of producing and writing a show based on his book "The Dirty Girls Social Club," a novel about six Latin professionals living in Boston.

"" I was told that the pilot was not credible because it reads as if it was "me and my friends." And it must be more 'Latin'. Would he said ' lead characters are Latin, more want to?' and she told me "will have doing something I know what, as women in black", "Valdes said Hill.""Do this is exactly what she told me, ' and I told him what?' and she told me ' can we please open the show with the girls discussing if to date men in prison because I know that you guys speak over things like that '."

Valdes criticized not only to creators and producers of the series for being unable to present a less stereotypical image of Latina but questioned the motives behind the support that some Hispanic groups have given "Bred diverted".

"It's absolutely despicable that these vigilante groups called Hispanics defend this network, disgusting that they could put a show on the air about professional women," continues Valdés. "Eva Longoria is cynically choosing to play by the rules that exist. I ask a group of media that are here if you ever have received money from Eva Longoria."

Executive Vice President of the National Hispanic Media Coalition Inez Gonzalez chimed respond to Valdes.

"I'm very offended with innuendo and contempt by 27 years of civil rights."

Improved: 10 things that happened immediately after the Supreme Court of Gay Rights resolutions

The Supreme Court issued two rulings on landmark gay rights on Wednesday, striking down the law on defense of marriage — a law which forbade the Government recognize same-sex marriages - and dismiss a suit of the supporters of proposition 8 in California ban on gay marriage.

It didn't take long to make the decisions take effect. Below is a list of policies changed and events that took place in the aftermath of the sentences:

(1) Equal military benefits were offered to Gay service members

Chuck Hagel Defense Secretary announced that the Pentagon would begin immediately offering equal benefits to members of the gay and their families.

"The Department of Defense celebrates the Supreme Court's decision today on the defense of Marriage Act," Hagel said in a statement. "The Department will immediately begin the process of implementation of the decision of the Supreme Court in consultation with the Department of Justice and other agencies of the Executive branch. The Defense Department intends to make the same benefits available to all military spouses - regardless of sexual orientation - as soon as possible. Now it is the law and is the right thing."

Husband 2.) Sean Brooks was protected from deportation

New Yorker are Brooks is officially married with her Colombian husband, Steven. With DRESSAGE, however, the federal Government does not recognize their nuptials, which means Steven request for a green card as the spouse of a citizen was denied. Later were rejected more claims based on their marriage, and husband of Brooks was facing deportation to Colombia. Once the Supreme Court, however, a New York immigration court apparently stopped the deportation process immediately.

(3) Some 28.500 other binational same-sex couples also breathed a sigh of relief

As HuffPost Elise Foley reports, Brooks and her husband were not the only ones facing potential deportation due to the refusal of the Government to conjugal visa applications:

They are among an estimated 28,500 binational same sex couples who have been excluded from immigration benefits because of DOMA, which does not allow the federal Government to recognize their marriages. Ruling of the Supreme Court on Wednesday does not entirely solve the problem - couples should marry instead of partners and must travel to a State that allows marriage between people of the same sex if they do not live in one - but it is still a great victory for LGBT rights.

4.) Married Gay couples began making room in their wallets for Extra money

With ido DRESSAGE, marriages of people of the same sex living in States with marriage equality are released from the taxes burdensome requirements that left them with a ticket to me. As reported by CNN Money, will now be able to transfer assets to one another with less expenses and filing their taxes on federal income jointly. At least a couple is trying to amend their tax returns for the last three years to get some of the additional taxes that paid for the DRESSAGE.

If you support equality and the idea of the IRS having to do more work, this is a win - win for you.

(5) Present easier for some Gay couples get health insurance

In addition to the benefits of direct taxes, same-sex couples live in States where gay marriage is legal will be eligible to receive a tax deduction in the dependent's coverage sponsored by the employer, Tara Culp-Ressler high school progress reports that. Federal subsidies for health insurance through Obamacare markets coverage will also be available to these couples, as a federal deduction for spouse coverage.

(6.) President Barack Obama may or may not have fist-pumped

Journalist for the Guardian Glenn Greenwald said Board on Wednesday that he considered returning to the States, now that the federal Government recognized his marriage with his Brazilian partner, David Michael Miranda. Greenwald has lived in Brazil for the past eight years, and said that it would need to consider the response outraged by some government officials to report on massive NSA surveillance programs before making a final decision.
